Hi, i have been experiencing relatively good service from SMRT buses for many years but i was totally disappointed to an incident that occurred just not long ago.
I am doing a complain feed back with regarding to yesterday's (05/02/07) incident.
The incident occurred when:
My friend and I were about to travel from Ten Tile junction towards Bukit Panjang Plaza.
To explain the situation, we had exit the complex and walking towards a "+" junction whereby Choa Chu Kang road comes to an
intersection with the road towards Woodlands (on the left) and the road towards Bukit Timah(on the right),
straight would lead to Bukit Panjang. As we were about to cross a zebra crossing, which was sandwiched in a filter lane
, a bus service number "OFF SERVICE" was speeding into what we know as DECELERATION filter lane with zebra crossing.
He was so fast that he failed to observe that there is a car in front waiting for clearance before the car can accelerate to move off,
so due to the speed, the bus did not stop before the zebra crossing. I would like to emphasize on the danger of such case.
If my friend and I were to enter the zebra crossing just when the bus (at that incredible speed) come into the DECELERATION filter lane,
i would not be able to type you a complain feedback already. But what¡¯s more incredible is that,
after my friend and I did some body gesture of frustration and anger, this particular bus driver instead of saying sorry,
he opened the front door and further used his combination of hokkien vulgarities at us,
we made our way through the front of the bus DANGEROUSLY as he can knock us down anytime and as he drives off,
he continued to abuse his vast knowledge of hokkien vulgarity at us. To speak the truth,
i had now developed a minor phobia of zebra crossing. As i feel that such road users don't really care about other road users and pedestrian.
And all after all, i feel deeply insulted for i felt as if i got no rights to gesture out my frustrations.
Who is in the wrong? Please assist me in investigating this case.
I hope a reasonable action will be taken place such road users should not be granted access to the function of roads and traffics.
